Mahua Paul is an Assistant Professor at ISID. She had received her M.A. and Ph.D. Degree from Banaras Hindu University. Her Ph.D topic was “Impact of External Resources on Economic Growth in India’’ and her research interests include Macroeconomics, Economic Development, International trade , Finance and Econometrics.

At the Institute, she was associated with the project on ‘China’s entry into WTO: Building Complementarities and Competitiveness in the India’s External Sector, sponsored by the Planning Commission, Government of India.

And currently working on project “Import Intensity of India’s Exports in the Liberalised Trade Policy Regime, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India.

Previously, she was working with Environmental Economics Division, Institute of Economic Growth. She had worked on a World Bank funded study on Capacity Building Project “Environmentally corrected GDP: Valuation and Accounting for Industrial Pollution in India” sponsored by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. She was also associated with Macro Econometric Model for comprehensive analysis of macroeconomic behaviour, policy analysis and forecast- focusing mainly on market determined behaviour of exchange rate, foreign trade and other macro variables.
