Women-Led MSMEs as Catalysts of Transformation

The Institute in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Women Entrepreneurs (FIWE) and the Ministry of MSMEs, Government of India organised an International Conference on “Women-led MSMEs as Catalysts of Transformation” from March 23–25, 2022. Around 150 participants from different parts of the country as

well as different countries including Bangladesh, Maldives, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Singapore, and Sri Lanka attended the event. There were nine sessions, including inaugural and valedictory session, on various themes including Access to Finance; Women-led MSMEs: Agents of Empowerment and Inclusive Development; Expanding Access to Finance through Fintech and Innovations; Spirituality and Entrepreneurship; ISID-UNESCAP session on Leveraging e-commerce and Digital Marketing for Women-led MSMEs; Leveraging Technology and Start-ups; Fireside Chat/Success Stories; and, Generating Leadership and Skills Development for Entrepreneurship.

 

There was also an exhibition of women-led MSMEs viz. Pragati Exhibition in which around ten women entrepreneurs displayed their products. Factory visit to three firms located in NOIDA were also conducted; around 25 women entrepreneurs visited these factories. In the valedictory session, the Priyadarshini Award was given to around 35 women entrepreneurs who have significantly contributed to socioeconomic development through their entrepreneurial activities. The award was presented by Dr Sandeep Marwah, National Chairman, Media and Entertainment Committee BIS, Ministry of Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution, Government of India. From ISID, the event was coordinated by Dr. Akhilesh K. Sharma, Assistant Professor.
