Ajit Jha is Assistant Professor at the Institute for Studies in Industrial Development. He did his Masters in Economics from University of Hyderabad and M.Phil & Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

He has teaching and research experiences of more than 6 years. As a researcher he had worked on specific research areas with National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), New Delhi and School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Ajit Jha has also taught to undergraduate students in different colleges of University of Delhi such as Hindu College, Miranda House, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce and Sri Aurobindo College as guest faculty. Before joining ISID, he was teaching as Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics of Dyal Singh Evening College on ad-hoc capacity. For a semester during January 2013 to June 2013 he has been visiting faculty at NIIT, Neemrana, Rajasthan.

His current research interest focuses on Labour and Employment conditions in Informal Economy, Occupational Mobility and Internal Migration, issues of Subcontracting, Financial access and Efficiency Estimation in Unorganized Manufacturing Enterprises.
