| ISID organised a Two-Week Capacity Building Programme sponsored by the ICSSR on “Industrial Transformation: Prospects and Challenges for Teachers and Faculties of Social Science” from May 4 to 16, 2026 at the ISID Campus. The programme aimed to enhance knowledge and research capabilities of the young social science faculties/teachers in industrial development and policy research. A total of 48 lecture sessions were delivered by eminent academicians and scholars on aspects of industrial development, structural change, trade and investment, MSMEs, competitiveness, R&D, innovation, Industry 4.0, e-commerce, and green industrialisation as well as technical sessions on data analytics, geographic information system, industrial databases, academic writing, and Indian knowledge systems. The programme was attended by 38 faculty members of different colleges and university departments across the country.

| The programme was coordinated by Dr Satyaki Roy, Associate Professor, ISID, and Dr Sangeeta Ghosh, Assistant Professor, ISID. The Inaugural Lecture was delivered by Prof Nagesh Kumar, Director, ISID; the Keynote Address was delivered by Prof Pulapre Balakrishnan, Visiting Faculty, Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Thiruvananthapuram; and Valedictory Address was delivered by Dr Abhinav Piyush, Deputy Director (Research), ICSSR.

| The Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID), New Delhi invites applications for a two-week Capacity Building Programme, being organised with support from Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), focused on the theme “Industrial Transformation: Prospects and Challenges” to be conducted physically during 04–16 May 2026 at ISID, New Delhi.
The programme aims to enhance knowledge and research capabilities of the young social science faculties/teachers in industrial development and policy research. The curriculum includes lectures by eminent experts on topic such as industrialisation, structural change, trade and investment, MSMEs, competitiveness, R&D, innovation, Industry 4.0, e-commerce, and green industrialisation as well as technical sessions on data analytics, geographic information system, industrial databases, and academic writing.
