About this book |
| The global economic order is undergoing a profound transformation induced by supply chain disruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical and trade tensions between major economies, weakening of multilateral institutions and shaking of the conventional alliances. Against this backdrop, strengthening bilateral economic cooperation between India and Korea has become especially significant. Their partnership was institutionalized through the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in 2010, which substantially reduced tariffs and was expected to boost cross border trade and investment. Yet, outcomes have been mixed.
This monograph provides fresh analysis on the status of the economic partnership and pathways to deepen the partnership for mutual benefit. It examines bilateral trade and investment trends, exploring how both countries can unlock potential for greater market access and tapping the synergies. The volume analyses the evolving landscape of global value chains and how India and Korea can leverage supply chain restructuring to enhance industrial collaboration. It also explores opportunities for cooperation in critical and emerging technologies. Additionally, this monograph delves into identifying potential areas of collaboration to aid green industrialization efforts of both the countries including through green hydrogen value chain. It will be a valuable resource for policymakers, analysts and researchers. |
