ISID and Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS), affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, jointly organised a Capacity Building Workshop on Industrial Development and Policy Research on June 12, 2024. The workshop was designed to provide VIPS faculty with valuable insights into a spectrum of research issues, methodologies, and data sources pertinent to industrial development and policies. Prof Nagesh Kumar, Director, ISID, and Prof Dr Charu Lata Singh, Dean, Vivekananda School of Journalism and Mass Communication (VSJMC), VIPS, delivered the opening remarks. Prof Nagesh Kumar further enriched the session with a presentation on “Fostering Industrial Transformation in India,” providing valuable knowledge that can aid in the country’s industrial advancement. The workshop also included insightful presentations from Dr R Rijesh, Assistant Professor, ISID, on “Trade and Industrial Productivity in India;” Dr Swati Verma, Assistant Professor, ISID, on “Corporate Sustainability: Reporting Norms and Compliance;” and, Dr Ramaa Arun Kumar, Assistant Professor, ISID, on “Import Dependence in India: Case of Toy Industry.”
