The Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID) is a premier national institution focused on supporting India’s industrial transformation through policy research, advocacy, and capacity-building and outreach activities. Supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) of the Government of India, ISID operates from its well-appointed campus located in the Vasant Kunj Institutional Area in South Delhi.

ISID invites applications from qualified individuals for the position of FINANCE OFFICER.

The requisite qualification for this position is a master’s degree in commerce, business administration, or management from a recognized university or membership of a national professional body such as the ICAI/ICWA/ICFA/ICSI. Candidate must have at least 10 years of experience in a progressively higher level of responsibility in financial management, donor relations, HR and estate management and other administrative tasks in a public funded organization. Besides day-to-day management of operations, a demonstrated ability in managing finances and investments, preparation of budget estimates and agenda papers for the meetings of the Board and its sub-committees and liaison with statutory auditors and CAG are critical. The candidate should be well-versed with government accounting procedures including the general financial rules (GFR), filling of returns under the Income Tax Act, GST, NPS, Section 35(1)(iii), FCRA, among other regulatory matters. Proficiency in automation tools including Tally accounting software, MS Office, etc. would be important. Those with experience of working in autonomous bodies, a government agency, a society, especially those engaged in research, teaching or consulting will have an advantage.

The position is currently at the Pay Level 11 of the 7th CPC. The Institute reserves the right to place candidates in another suitable scale as per the recommendation of the selection committee. Institute reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reason thereof.

Recruitment of Research Assistant for Project Work

Applications are invited for one Research Assistant in a research project ‘Entrepreneurship, innovation and job creation: a study of India’s startup ecosystem’, with a consolidated salary of ₹37,000 per month. The appointment is purely on contact for a period of six months, extendable up to one more year depending on the requirement of the project.

The candidate should possess master degree in economics or any other relevant discipline (with minimum 55% marks), preferably with work/research experience in startup firms and innovation. Familiarity with statistical software such as STATA etc. will be an added advantage.
