For almost seventeen years, the Institute operated from the temporary structures at Narendra Niketan in Indraprastha Estate, New Delhi. After a prolonged and arduous effort of more than a decade the Institute could develop its own campus. The permanent campus of ISID has come up on a 1.5 ha. plot in the Institutional Area, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. The campus contains three blocks, namely Academic Block, Office Block and Conference Block with modern hostel facilities for visiting scholars and participants in various conferences and programmes.
