Profile

Prof. Ranganathan did his Masters Degree in Commerce from Andhra University, Waltair, in 1976 and Ph.D., in Commerce from Department of Commerce, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra in 1991. The Ph.D. dissertation was on “Export Promotion and Indian Joint Ventures Abroad”. He also did a six months “Certificate course in Information Technology” from CMC Ltd., in 1998.

Prof. Ranganathan teaches ‘Computer Application in Business' paper at Department of Commerce, Jamia Millia Islamia for M.Com. (Final) students since 1994-95 as a guest faculty and has co-ordinated a number of Computer Training Programmes organized by the Institute. During 25th October, 1995 to 12th November, 1995 he visited the Netherlands under the exchange of scholars scheme of the Indo-Dutch Programme of Alternatives in Development, ICSSR, New Delhi and also in 1988 visited various Universities and Research Institutes in the Netherlands, West Germany, and England in connection with the Indo-Dutch Programme on Alternatives in Development (IDPAD) Research project "The Impact of MNCs on India's Position in the International Division of Labour". His major areas of research interest are foreign investments, corporate sector, databases and networking.

Short Duration Film

Alongwith other members of the team a short duration film was prepared on “Of MNCs & GODs”. The film is a satirical drama with illustrations and data on the operations and dominance of the Multinational Corporations in the Indian economy.
